Get to Know Our Governors a Litter bit more
Mr Peter Nurse
I have been a governor since the mid 2000s across the community governor, deputy chair and chair roles. I have also volunteered in the classroom and on trips since my son joined Reception in 2009, so have seen many aspects of school life and how the school has progressed over that time. My interests include wildlife and nature, music and supporting the Scarlets rugby team.

I have been a Parent Governor since 2022, a role which I really enjoy. I have children of my own at Pembroke Primary, and also one child who moved on to comp following a lovely Primary school experience with Pembroke Primary. I enjoy music concerts, walking, and I love animals, especially dogs!
Mrs Shleah Joseph
I have been a parent governor since August 2024, and I currently work as the SENDCo and Head of Inclusion at a Primary School in Bristol. I utilise my professional experiences to support various aspects of school life here at Pembroke. Outside of my role, I love spending quality time with my family and have a passion for travelling to new countries, exploring diverse cultures.Additionally, I enjoy SCUBA diving,playing the piano and listening to a wide range of music and podcasts.
Mrs Amy Whittaker
I’m a qualified Children’s Nurse and Health Visitor, and also work for Shout, supporting people experiencing mental health crisis. Additionally, I teach swimming at Chepstow Leisure Centre on Sundays. My son joined the ALC at Pembroke Primary in 2022 when he was four, which sparked my interest in becoming a school governor and supporting the school community more widely. I’m passionate about inclusion, safeguarding and making sure every child has the chance to thrive. Outside of work, I enjoy going to the gym, music, and going on family adventures.
